After Valve announced the imminent release of an updated version of CS:GO, some players have already managed to gain access to beta testing. Among them were data miners, ready to thoroughly study the game files in search of additional information. Despite the fact that less than a week has passed, they have already managed to find a lot of interesting information, many of which will please the players.

What updates to expect from Counter-Strike 2

New items and skins

First of all, two new knives may appear in the game - Twinblade with a forked blade and a curved Kukri. These are the models that were found in the beta version files. A knife with a double blade has an unusual appearance and has every chance of gaining high popularity. The kukri design is based on the shape of a traditional Nepalese weapon.

What updates to expect from Counter-Strike 2 2

In addition, new items may appear in the Danger Zone – battle royale mode. Data miners have discovered a new type of grenade that will go off if the enemy snags a tripwire. In addition, the game files mention another type of weapon – "pipe", that is, "pipe", although it is not yet clear what this may turn out to be – a melee weapon or another type of explosive device. Finally, the Counter-Strike 2 files also mention a type of trap called a bear trap. However, not all data miners are optimistic about these findings: some indicate that these items could have been added to the game files a long time ago, and their discovery does not mean that they will appear in the Danger Zone immediately after output CS2. It is not yet possible to test this in practice, since the limited testing version does not have all game modes. In addition to DeathZone, the update may also affect other formats. In particular, in Arms Race and Demolition the maximum number of players may increase.

Anti-cheat improvement and a new operation

The anti-cheat system may also receive an update. Judging by the text of the messages that can be displayed during the game, a system called VAC Live will be able to stop the match if a cheater is detected. If such a solution is implemented, it can well count on a positive assessment from the community.

There is a high probability that, simultaneously with the release of Counter-Strike 2 into general access, Valve will launch a new operation. More than a year has passed since the last one, and a certain amount of information was found in the game files indicating such a possibility. In particular, three skin collections are mentioned, as well as other types of cosmetic items. However, there have been no official statements from Valve regarding the new operation.

It should be taken into account that the information found in the game files is not always up-to-date: they may contain traces of ideas that the developers eventually abandoned, especially if we are talking about a test version. Only time will tell which of the data miners' predictions will ultimately turn out to be correct – Fortunately, the wait for Counter Strike 2 to be released to the general public is not that long.
