Captain of the Danish team Astralis Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander shared on the broadcast his impressions of the start of IEM Cologne – the first LAN tournament after a long period of quarantine restrictions, due to which most major events were moved online. He mentioned that he was very happy to return to a familiar format in which all teams can play on an equal footing without being subject to ping differences and other characteristics of their location. Of course, improved communication within the team when all participants are in the same room is also of great importance.
Astralis has already played its first match at IEM Cologne, beating FaZe. Talking about this game, gla1ve mentioned that this match had special meaning for him, since it is about a confrontation with a compatriot with whom he is both rivals and good friends.
Meanwhile, on the evening of July 10, Astralis will play against the Danish Heroic. The day before, the tournament organizers allowed the latter to leave quarantine. Despite the fact that one of the players tested positive for coronavirus, it was later determined that this result – a consequence of a previous illness. Thus, Heroic were able to play the match against Spirit from their training facility, and they will most likely be able to play against Astralis in a normal setting.
