CIS teams demand an investigation into the Akuma game

14 of the 16 teams participating in the EPIC League CIS wrote an open letter to the organizers, calling for an investigation into the cheating allegations made against Akuma. Tournament participants suspect that the Ukrainian team, which was able to beat Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro and ended up among the winners, somehow, with the help of third parties or technical devices, received data about the opponent's actions during the match and used it to determine the location of players on the map and use this to gain an unfair advantage.

The letter is not limited to criticism of Akuma. It also mentions the problems of holding the tournament, which was organized by the Russian Cybersports Federation (FKS) and Epic Esports Events. Over the past few days, analysts have repeatedly expressed the opinion that it was the unprofessional approach of the organizers that created an environment in which cheating was possible, but it was difficult to conduct a full investigation. In particular, the authors of the letter indicate that the tournament organizers did not record communications between team members and did not use additional means of detecting cheats. The authors of the letter call for the introduction in the future of a number of mandatory measures to combat cheating, including continuous recording of TeamSpeak conversations and player actions, as well as the use of other anti-cheats in addition to VAC.

Earlier, the FCC published a statement in which it said that it had conducted its own investigation and had not identified any violations in the actions of Akuma players or the tournament organizers. At the same time, representatives of the organization noted that, if necessary, they are ready to conduct a second investigation with the participation of Valve and ESIC.
