SteelSeries, a manufacturer of computer peripherals and accessories, announced the Nova Invitational tournament – a one-day event with a total prize pool of $10,000. The competition will take place on August 13. The semifinal matches will be played in a best-of-1 format, and the grand final – as best-of-3.
Very notable teams will take part in this small competition, namely OG, SINNERS, Tricked, as well as FaZe, which currently tops the world rankings. For all four, the Nova Invitational will be their first appearance at official matches since the start of the off-season break. In addition, Abdul “degster” will appear as one of the main team members in OG. Hasanov, who previously successfully performed in it as a substitute player at the BLAST Premier Spring Final.
In 2021, SteelSeries won OG, but since then its lineup has completely changed. The current roster, the leader of which is the Serbian e-sportsman Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic performed well in the first half of 2022, reaching the semi-finals of the BLAST Premier Spring Final, and will now try to build on this success. However, FaZe remains the undisputed favorite of the tournament. There is a high probability that FaZe and OG will sort things out in the finals, since the other two teams are noticeably inferior to them in terms of position in the world rankings.
