The Chinese team ViCi announced that they will not take part in the BLAST Premier Showdown despite the fact that they were able to qualify. Her place will be taken by Lynn Vision, which, based on the results of qualification, took the next place.
ViCi, headed by Zhuo “advent” Liang decided to give up her place in the BLAST Premier Showdown in order to concentrate on preparing for the IEM Fall Asia tournament, which will take place from October 5 to 10. Otherwise, the team's schedule would be too tight due to the fact that players would have to travel to Europe, which could affect results. At the same time, the results of IEM Fall Asia are of greater importance for ViCi. In the Asian regional ranking, ViCI shares first place with TYLOO, and the outcome of the tournament determines which of them will be able to go to the Major in Stockholm.
Thus, Lynn Vision unexpectedly got the chance to conduct a bootcamp lasting several weeks in Europe, and then try to prove themselves in the BLAST Premier Showdown. It’s difficult to say how far the team, ranked 145th in the world rankings, will be able to advance: the tournament is held in a single elimination format, and among its participants – such teams as Liquid and G2.
