The first season of the FLASHPOINT League ended at the end of last week. The winner of the final match was the Danish team MAD Lions, who beat the Brazilian MIBR with a score of 2:1. At first, MAD Lions lost to their opponents on the Mirage map, but then bounced back on Inferno and Train. The prize payment that MAD Lions received was the largest win in the history of the team – it amounted to 500 thousand dollars. MIBR came in second place and received 250 thousand. The third and fourth places were taken by HAVU and Cloud9, respectively.
The final match attracted more than 282 thousand spectators, making it the most popular event of this tournament. Second place in popularity was taken by another confrontation between MAD Lions and MIBR, which took place during the qualifying games. This match was watched by more than 170 thousand spectators.
Based on the results of their performance at FLASHPOINT, both teams increased their positions in the HLTV rating. Now MAD Lions have returned to eleventh place, which they lost a little over a month ago, and the Brazilians have reached fifteenth place.
The FLASHPOINT tournament was held from March 13 to April 19 in an online format and attracted a large number of spectators. Teams from Denmark, Brazil, Finland, the USA and Europe took part in it.
