Danish eSports player Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjarbier announced that he will leave the HYENAS project, for which he recently played, and will stop playing CS: GO at a professional level. Now the Dane is only 23 years old, but despite his young age, he has managed to mark several impressive achievements. In particular, in 2017, when Marcus was still 18 years old, he became the youngest MVP of a major at ELEAGUE Major 2017. Then Astralis, for whom he played, won the tournament. In addition, he was included in the list of the top twenty players of the year twice (in 2016 and 2017).
In 2018, Marcus unexpectedly left Astralis and moved to North – a Danish team that expected to reach a high level with the support of the Copenhagen football club. The project was unsuccessful, and after that Kjaerbye decided to try his luck outside of Denmark and joined FaZe. Some time after he dropped out of FaZe's main roster, Markus teamed up with two more former North players to try to create a new Danish team. However, it was not possible to achieve quick success.
In his statement regarding his departure from CS:GO, Marcus noted that he currently does not feel sufficiently motivated to compete at the professional level. He's currently planning to do something other than Counter Strike, but he hasn't ruled out returning to the game in the future.
