The organizers of the IEM Dallas tournament announced that Heroic will not be able to attend the competition, and MIBR will perform in its place. The substitution a few days before the start of the tournament is explained by the fact that after the end of the PGL Major Antwerp, the Danish team experienced “difficulties related to coronavirus”, due to which they were unable to travel abroad.
The first candidate to replace Heroic was Spirit, which took 3-4 place at the major, but its participants did not have time to obtain visas, and therefore the team had to refuse the invitation. Thus. MIBR got a chance to restore their reputation after being eliminated from the Major at the Challengers stage. Then she adjusted the lineup, replacing Adriano “WOOD7” Serato on Breno "brnz4n" Poletto, while Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes took the place of in-game leader.
This is not the first problem of this kind that the organizers of IEM Dallas have encountered. The tournament is set to be the first large-scale event in North America since the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier it became known that Natus Vincere and Entropiq would not appear at the event due to problems with ENCE visas; for the same reason, one of the players had to be replaced, and NIP was left without in-game leader Hampus “hampus” Poser because of his illness. In addition, Astralis coach Martin “trace” Heldt will also not be able to attend IEM Dallas.
