Late last week it was announced that Thorbjörn “mithR” Nyborg will become the new coach of mousesports – this position was left vacant after the team's previous coach, Allan "Rejin" Petersen, received a ban of more than 19 months due to the use of a “coach bug” during official matches. Previously, mirthR coached such teams as Tricked and ALTERNATE aTTaX, and in 2019 his collaboration with Notrh began. However, the Danish team did not perform very well, and at the beginning of 2020 its composition was significantly changed, and mirthR moved to Renegades in April. They managed to show good results, but soon after the pandemic began, Renegades were forced to limit their performances to their home region. Therefore, Thorbjörn, eager to continue his coaching career at the international level, accepted the offer from mousesports.
The coach believes that his main task – create an environment for players that will stimulate their development. His priority is not to teach players any specific techniques, but to create a structure in which the highest performance and hard work are expected of everyone. To do this, the coach must set specific goals that will motivate the players, make sure that they do not lose interest and strive to develop.
Under the leadership of the new coach, mousesports will be performing in the near future – at BLAST Showdown and DreamHack Masters Winter.
