Movistar Riders will take part in IEM Katowice instead of Complexity

At the end of the week it became known that the American Complexity would not be able to take part in the IEM Katowice play-in due to positive test results for coronavirus. Their place in the tournament will be given to the Spanish team Movistar Riders, which ranks next in the ESL Pro Tour rankings.

It was previously reported that two more players would miss the first major LAN tournament of the year due to the coronavirus. This is Robin "ropz" Kool from FaZe and Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras from MOUZ. However, these two teams decided to participate in the tournament anyway, including replacement players in the lineup. In addition, the Chinese TYLOO recently withdrew from the competition, unable to arrive in Europe due to anti-epidemic restrictions. Her place at IEM Katowice went to Sprout.

Movistar Riders currently ranks 23rd in the world rankings and recently finished ESL Challenger February in 5th-6th place. Her highest achievements over the past year were 14th place in the ranking in October 2021 and participation in the Challenger stage of the PGL Stockholm Major.

Complexity's results recently can hardly be called stable, and missing the Katowice performance would be another setback for the team. She recently finished last at BLAST Premier Spring Groups, having suffered six losses in a row, but was later able to enter the top four at ESL Challenger February.
