On November 29, the NAVI team won the main trophy of BLAST Premier Fall, defeating Vitality in the grand final of the tournament with a score of 2 – 1. Thus, for the team from the CIS this is the third victory in a LAN tournament in a row, after IEM Cologne and PGL Major.
However, winning at BLAST Premier Fall did not come without effort for NAVI. Having won the first map (Mirage), despite the fact that her opponents chose her, she unexpectedly lost to Nuke with a crushing score of 16 – 6, and this despite the fact that over the past six months NAVI has not lost on this map even once. The outcome of the match was decided on Inferno, where the French e-sportsmen were unable to maintain the pace set by NAVI and often did not have time to react to their attacks. As a result, by the end of the map, the advantage of players from the CIS turned out to be quite significant: 16 – 7.
The winner of the tournament MVP title was Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev. This is the eighteenth such achievement in his career, and the seventh over the past year. Thus, he was equal in this indicator to Nikolai “device” Ridtz, who became MVP seven times in 2018. By the end of the year, s1mple still has the opportunity to surpass the Dane’s achievement – in mid-December NAVI will perform at the BLAST Premier World Final.
