
The German team Sprout won the ESL Meisterschaft Spring and, thanks to this, advanced to the group stage of the IEM Cologne championship. Sprout has also secured a spot in the playoffs of the ESL National Championship Global later this month.
In the ESL Meisterschaft finals, Spring Sprout defeated the Unicorns of Love team in a three-map match. At first they were defeated on the Inferno map chosen by their opponents, but then won a convincing victory 16 – 5 on Dust2 and left Nuke with a score of 16 – 11. Before this, in the semi-finals of the championship, Sprout beat NLG, preventing it from gaining an advantage on any map.
Winning the German national championship will allow Sprout to compete in the ESL National Championship Global playoffs, where they will face national championship winners from other countries, including the UK's Endpoint, France's LDLC and Spain's Movistar Riders.
The group stage of IEM Cologne will take place on 6 – July 7 in Cologne (Germany). Sixteen participants will compete for eight places in the final stage. Sprout's competitors will include Complexity, Spirit, NIP and other top European teams.
