The German team BIG announced the signing of Niklas "gade" Geida. The twenty-six-year-old eSports player will appear in the team's starting lineup at ESL Pro League Season 14. There are currently six players on the roster, and BIG should announce the final list of participants soon.
Niklas was without a team for less than a month: before that, he played for HYENAS, which brought together former players from several other Danish teams, including North and Heroic, but in early July it announced the cessation of activities after the departure of Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjarbier.
In a press release about the move to BIG, gade noted that he was truly delighted by the offer from this team: “After being unsure for some time about what the future held, I am incredibly happy to know that this is now my new home. I hope and believe that I can make my own contribution to finally taking this project to the next level."
BIG's recent performance has been average, especially compared to its mid-2020 performance when it scored three major tournament wins in two months. BIG CEO Daniel Finkler expects gade's experience and leadership to play an important role in the team's development.
