On July 28, Valve released another update for CS:GO, in which several significant changes appeared in the game. A few days after the release of Swamp and Mutiny – The developers have added a small patch that fixes bugs and improves the balance on these maps.
In addition to fixes for the new maps, the update addressed another issue: it fixed an exploit that allowed players to make smoke invisible to themselves, although it still obscured the view of others. Richard Lewis, who discovered this bug, did not describe its receipt in detail in order to prevent its use in public matches. However, he noted that the sequence of actions was very simple and did not trigger VAC.
Apparently, Valve took notice of this situation and released an update within 24 hours after Lewis posted a video demonstrating the bug. Now it will be impossible to use this exploit.
In addition, the update includes several fixes for the Mutiny and Swamp maps. They are designed to improve visibility, optimize performance and generally make the gameplay on them more balanced. Optimization also affected shaders and sound files.
