October 16 update - fixing a bug with the sound of footsteps and other improvements

In the Counter Strike: Global Offensive update, released on October 16, fixes were made to several maps at once. One of the main changes was the elimination of a sound bug, which had been a problem in the game for a long time. It consisted in the fact that if one of the players moved through the water, sometimes opponents could hear the sound of his steps, even being in a position where he should not have reached.

Players especially often began to express dissatisfaction with this bug after adding the Ancient map to the tournament map pool, on which water is present near the spawn point of the “terrorist” team. The problem has been noted before: for several years it has affected matches played on Overpass and Inferno, where water-covered areas are also present in important segments of the map.

The fix that appeared in the latest update is very timely, as it fixes a bug on the eve of the biggest tournament of the year, PGL Major Stockholm, so that it will no longer affect the results of matches. In addition, the update included other changes to the Ancient and Basalt maps. These include fixes for visual defects and minor bugs. In addition, the update improved the stability of the game in general.
