On August 2, another CS:GO update was released, the most noticeable feature of which was a change in the calculation of ranks. As a result, many players may change their rank. The developers explain this with a new algorithm. After downloading the update, the rank will not be displayed until the player plays at least one match in the corresponding game mode. After this, the rank will be recalibrated and will appear in the profile. The developers also noted that this is not the first change to the rank system, it’s just that usually the adjustments are small and therefore do not deserve special mention in the patch descriptions.
In addition, some bugs in the game instructor functions have been fixed, and a number of changes have been added to the Ember map. They mainly concern the location of the guns and their use: they now have three firing rates, they can now be aimed upward, and the rate of inaccuracy of fire has decreased. A separate icon has been added to the kill feed to display information about enemies killed from a cannon. In addition, the developers have fixed bugs related to the use of guns and improved the graphical effects of firing from them.
Also, in accordance with the changes made, localization files for different languages have been updated: new files have appeared in them related to displaying information about rank recalibration.
