There are a few days left before the start of the opening stage of PGL Major Antwerp, and its organizers have already announced the full schedule of the tournament and the composition of the opening matches. The first stage of PGL Major Antwerp starts on May 9. In it, teams in the Challengers and Contenders categories will compete for eight places in the next stage. Eight more teams will begin their performance immediately from the Legends stage after winning regional RMR tournaments.
The matches of the first four days, which will take place according to the Swedish system, will include teams such as G2, Vitality, Liquid, Astralis and ENCE, as well as several teams occupying a lower position in the ranking and qualifying for the major for the first time, for example, 9z and IHC.
The most notable early matches of the tournament will likely be Vitality vs. Complexity and G2 vs. Liquid. A little later, the matches of Astralis against IHC and MIBR against Outsiders will be played. All starting matches will be played in a best-of-1 format, and then based on them, teams will be distributed into groups depending on the ratio of wins and losses. Depending on this, the schedule of matches for the second half on May 9, as well as subsequent days of the qualifying stage, will be formed.
