Team META and betFIRST have teamed up to organize a new tournament called CS:GO Elite. The competition, which will involve just six teams, is due to take place in February 2021, with a prize fund of €15,000. The best teams from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg will perform in the tournament. The organizers expect to hold three events during the year, the results of which will determine the best team in the region.
Most of the prize fund will be awarded at the final stage of the tournament at the end of the year, while the spring and summer games will serve as qualifying games: teams will be able to earn points from them, which will be taken into account when distributing participants in the finals: the three teams with the highest ratings will advance to the final stage.
“By creating this CS:GO league, betFIRST aims to become a pioneer in the development of eSports in Belgium,” says Paul Seghers, a representative of one of the tournament organizers. – We believe in the power of eSports and, together with META, we hope to give local talented players more opportunities to prove themselves."
Until December 6, the organizers will accept applications from teams that want to take part. Six teams will be selected from them, and the first matches will take place on February 11, 2021.
