Red Bull has announced the return of the Red Bull Flick tournament following the success it had last year. In 2021, the competition will take place in November in Helsinki, and its prize fund will be 50,000 euros. Partners of the event will be SteelSeries and AOC, and Nikola “Niko” Kovacs from the G2 team will act as his official ambassador and will also commentate on the best matches.
RedBull Flick competitions take place in an unusual format: teams, each consisting of only two players, compete on five original maps made in a futuristic style, such as Digital Archives or Control Room. Both professionals and amateurs will be able to take part in the competition.
Those interested can register to participate in national and international qualifying matches, which will take place from April to October. The winners of the open qualification will advance to the Helsinki Invitational, the results of which will determine the final list of teams that will advance to the main stage. In addition, ENCE, Cloud9 and several other teams have already received invitations to the Helsinki Invitational. Each of them will choose two players to compete in.
