On Friday, the dates for the first RMR tournaments of 2021 for the CIS and Oceania countries were announced. The event will be organized by the Russian Esports Federation with the support of Epic Sports Events – a company that used to organize a series of EPICENTER tournaments. In addition, a large amount of prize money will be raffled off – a total of $40,000 for CIS countries and $10,000 for Oceania countries.
The tournament for teams from the CIS will begin with open qualifying matches, which start on May 8 (registration for them is open now), followed by a closed qualifying tournament from May 9 to 12. The eight best teams will advance to the main stage. In addition, several teams that successfully performed in RMR tournaments last year (Natus Vincere, Spirit, Nemiga, Virtus.pro) have already received places in it. The organizers also proposed four more teams, including Gambit, which currently ranks first in the world rankings, and the lesser-known up-and-coming team EPG Family. The main stage will take place from May 12 to 23.
Less is known about the tournament for the countries of Oceania. However, the organizers have already announced that the open qualification and then the playoffs will take place from May 23 to May 30.
