Tournament organizer StarLadder spoke about how the next regional competitions for the CIS will be held. The tournament called StarLadder CIS RMR with a prize fund of $100,000 will begin at the end of May, and its final stage will take place at the end of June – early July.
Teams will be able to qualify for the main part of the competition during two open qualifying rounds – one of them will pass 5 – June 7, and the second – 12 – June 14. Then, as part of a closed selection, they will compete for the right to advance with four teams that received direct invitations. Four more teams will be invited directly to the main stage. Thus, ten teams from the CIS will participate in the final part of StarLadder CIS RMR. They will be divided into two groups, in each of which two teams will advance to the playoffs. The group stage will begin on June 27, and 2 – On July 4, the playoff matches will be played and the winner will be determined. In addition to cash prizes, teams that take leading places will receive rating points.
Both the qualifying matches and the main stage will be held online. In the near future, StarLadder will announce the lists of invited participants and publish more detailed information about the tournament schedule and prize pool distribution.
