The organizers of the DreamHack tournament series have announced the list of teams that will receive invitations to closed qualifying matches in North and South America. There will be a total of four teams – two from each region.
The DreamHack Open March tournament is scheduled to take place on March 11 and 14. The $100,000 prize pool will be split between the two regions mentioned above, with the majority ($70,000) up for grabs in North America. Teams will compete not only for a cash prize, but also for ESL Pro Tour ranking points.
Eight teams should take part in the North American part, of which six will receive direct invitations, and two will advance through closed qualifications. For participants from South America, the conditions are similar: two teams will be invited directly, and two will advance to the main stage based on the results of a closed selection.
Thus, the North American qualifiers, which will take place February 25-27, will feature Mythic, Extra Salt, Third Impact and Secret Club, as well as four other teams that have become leaders in the open qualifying rounds. Among the South American teams, 9z and Havan Liberty received invitations. They will play qualifying matches on February 25-26.
