There has been a new twist in the story of a Finnish esports player who filed a lawsuit against Valve due to an unfair ban. Some time ago, professional player Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen sued Valve Corporation, hoping to recover compensation for lost profits. Let us remember that his problems arose due to a VAC ban, which he received while still a minor due to an unfortunate coincidence of circumstances. Olkkonen believes that because of this he was unable to accept an offer from a professional team and suffered a loss of €250,000.
The case has been going on for a long time, but has not yet been completed: it suddenly turned out that Jamppi filed a claim against the wrong company. He addressed his complaints to Valve Gmbh, a small subsidiary of Valve, which has nothing to do with CS: GO or the banning of players.
The situation with Jamppi also attracted everyone's attention because of his age: the talented player recently turned 18 years old, and the story of the ban began when he was only 14. Many representatives of the professional scene are on the side of the Finnish e-sportsman, but it is not yet clear how the situation will unfold further. We can only hope that in the end what is happening will not become a significant obstacle to the further development of his career.
