Following the results of the first day of the IEM Rio Major playoffs, the participants in the first semi-final match became known. They were MOUZ and Outsiders.
Outsiders won a fairly convincing victory over fnatic, and two maps were enough for it. At Inferno she won with a score of 16 – 11, and on Mirage her advantage turned out to be twofold (16 - 8). Evgeniy “FL1T” especially distinguished himself Lebedev, who demonstrated the highest rating on the server – 1.41.
Outsiders' opponent will be MOUZ, who sent Cloud9 home. To do this, she needed three cards. The Russian team was able to chalk up the first of them (Inferno), although with a slight advantage (11 - 16). On the following maps, the strengths of the opponents seemed almost equal for some time, but in the end MOUZ managed to achieve a decisive advantage: Overpass went to her with a score of 16 – 13, and the decisive Ancient with a more convincing result (16 – 9).
The semi-final match, in which the teams will fight for the right to get into the grand final, will take place on Saturday at 20:00 Moscow time. And on Friday evening the participants in the second semi-final will be determined, and the attention of the audience will be focused, first of all, on the confrontation between FURIA and Natus Vincere.
