By the beginning of the week, the final list of 52 teams was determined that will travel to Bucharest in April to participate in the final qualifying stage before the PGL Major Antwerp. They will compete for 24 slots in the tournament, of which 16 will go to teams from Europe and the CIS, 6 – North and South America and 2 more – teams from Asia and Oceania.
The European part of the list includes 13 teams that were in the top 16 at the previous major. The rest were determined based on the results of five qualifying stages – four for Europe and the CIS and one more for the Russian Far East. Among the most notable teams that failed to qualify – K23, SKADE, Wisla Krakow and ECSTATIC. The qualifying tournament for Europe will take place from April 17 to 24. The teams that will take part in it are divided into two groups of 16 teams. Among them are many representatives of the top 20, including Natus Vincere, Heroic, G2, Gambit and Virtus.pro.
The qualifying tournament for North and South America will take place on the 11th – April 14. Only the Brazilian FURIA was able to guarantee itself a place on the list by getting into the top 16 at PGL Major Stockholm. The remaining 15 participants were determined during four qualifying tournaments. Most of the teams that were expected to do so qualified, but GODSENT and the Sharks were unlucky.
Finally, the Asian stage of the qualifying tournament will take place on the 15th – April 16. Four teams will take part in it – Chinese TYLOO and Lynn Vision, Australian Regenades and Mongolian IHC.
