After the completion of the group stage, the final composition of the playoffs for ESL Pro League Season 15 became known. Interestingly, the teams occupying the top 3 of the world rankings ended up in the same part of the bracket. These are Natus Vincere, FaZe and Gambit, which, due to sanctions restrictions, perform under the name Players.
The most successful participant in the group stage was Natus Vincere, which did not suffer a single defeat and took first place in Group D. Heroic was in second position, losing to it in the final match, and Astralis managed to get into third place.
The group stage brought several surprises. Among the most notable. – Brazilian FURIA came out on top in Group B and a series of victories for Movistar Riders in Group C, while G2 and Vitality, which occupied higher places in the ranking, failed to advance to the next stage.
The playoff bracket is structured so that the teams that take first and second place in the same group cannot meet each other before the grand final, and the participants in first and third place in the same group – before the semi-finals. Thus, the most notable match of the first part of the playoffs will be the confrontation between FaZe and Gambit, while Natus Vincere goes straight to the quarterfinals, where they will meet the winner of this pair.
