On April 14, the final list of invited participants in the tournament was determined DreamHack Masters Spring Europe. It was previously announced that twelve clubs from different countries would participate in the tournament, including mousesports, Astalis and fnatic, which have recently taken leading positions in European e-sports. Now it has become known that the remaining two slots will be occupied by the top leaders HLTV Natus Vincere and the Danish team Heroic, which ranks twenty-fifth in the ranking.
Two more places will be distributed based on the results of qualifying matches, which will take place on April 16-17. The European stage of the DreamHack Masters tournament itself will take place in May-June. The competition was originally scheduled to take place in the Swedish city of Jönköping, however, like many esports competitions in 2020, they were moved online due to the coronavirus pandemic. The format of the competition has also changed: the teams are divided into divisions based on regional principles.
In parallel with the European tournament, matches will be held in North America, Asia and Oceania. European and American teams will play a group stage followed by playoffs, while the remaining two divisions will be straight-elimination games due to the smaller number of teams. The winners of regional tournaments will compete for the main prize in the grand final.
