PGL Major Stockholm schedule published

The organizers of the PGL Major Stockholm tournament have published the final schedule of the event. The competition, with an impressive prize pool of a total of $2,000,000, will take place from October 26 to November 7, and each stage will take four days. The first two stages, called Challengers and Legends, will be held at the Annexet site without spectators. The final stage, called Champions, will be held at the Avicii Arena. The winner of the major will be determined in the playoffs in the single elimination format.

Twenty-four teams will compete for the main prize. Sixteen of them will begin their journey to the finals from the Challengers and Legends stages, which are held according to the Swiss system. In this case, the first matches will be played in the best-of-1 format, and by the end of the stage the teams will switch to the best-of-3 format. The schedule is being built taking into account Valve's intentions to reduce the influence of majors on the calendar of other competitions and make the schedule more convenient for players.

8 teams from Europe will take part in the Challengers stage, 3 – from the CIS, and 2 – from North America, as well as one each from South America, Oceania and China. The participants in the Legends stage included 3 teams from North America, 3 from Europe and 2 from the CIS.
