IronWar tournament organizers accused of fraud over non-payment of prize money

The esports organization SKADE, which took first place in the IronWar Grand Prix tournament four months ago, accused its organizers of fraud. The competition took place at the end of summer 2021 in an online format, and the prize fund was $30 thousand. In the final, SKADE defeated AGO, for which, in accordance with the tournament regulations, she was entitled to a payment of 12.5 thousand, which, however, was never transferred. In a statement published on its website, SKADE claims that shortly after the event ended, its organizers stopped responding to messages and avoided contact on Discord.

Other tournament participants also spoke out against the organizers of the IronWar Grand Prix. In particular, the Nemiga Gaming coach said that his team never received the payment and noted that from the very beginning he suspected the organizers of dishonesty. TeamSingularity player Denis "seized" Kostin, on the contrary, did not suspect fraud at first, since he considered the presence of the tournament page on HLTV.org to be a sufficient basis for trust. According to him, such problems have not appeared before with tournaments allowed on HLTV.

The organizer of the tournament was the Belarusian company OO "E-sports gaming". She managed to hold another event called IronWar Series #1, and its participants were also left without payments.
