Elisa Invitational organizers announced a new tournament league

The organizers of the Elisa Invitational tournament announced that they plan to expand the number of competitions they hold. Thus, from January to April, a series of tournaments called Elisa Nordic Championship will be held, the total prize fund of which will be $100,000.

Initially, four separate leagues will be held in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway, each with 16 local teams participating. The prize fund will be $12,500 for each event. The winners of these leagues will qualify for the Elisa Invitational, where they will compete for a $50,000 prize against four other teams who will receive direct invites.

Participants in national leagues will be determined in open qualifying matches, which will take place in early January. Based on their results, twelve of the sixteen participants in each country will be selected, and the remaining four will be invited.

So far, the organizers have only spoken in more detail about the Finnish league: its group stage starts on January 8th. The playoffs, which will include the top two teams from each group, will begin only on March 4. The organizers plan to publish detailed information about the remaining national leagues in the near future.
