The German esports organization BIG announced a contract with Joseph “faveN&ldquo” Baumann. He will take the place of Niklas "gade" Gade, who was sent to the reserve. According to BIG, the 21-year-old player's transfer from Sprout – This is an unprecedented transfer by the standards of the German esports scene, becoming the largest deal involving a German player in the history of CS: GO.
Over the three years of cooperation with Sprout, Baumann has repeatedly demonstrated outstanding results, and 2021 was an outstanding year for him in terms of individual achievements – in particular, at the end of the year its average rating was 1.18. BIG, on the contrary, has recently encountered difficulties after the transfer of Ismailkan “XANTARES” Dortkardesh in Eternal Fire. The German team has failed to finish in the top five at the last two major tournaments. Now BIG hopes to return to the level it showed in 2020.
BIG CEO Daniel Finkler commented on the transfer as follows: “Over the past 12 months, faveN has shone on the international stage and many clubs have been interested in working with him.” We are absolutely confident that faveN, with his unique skills and desire to play at the world level, will fit perfectly into the BIG lineup.” The player himself noted that he was glad to play for the best team in Germany and hopes that they will soon be able to return to the top 10 again.
