PGL announced the postponement of the dates on which the open qualifiers will be held. Three of the four qualifying rounds have been moved to a later date, as a result of which teams will be able to get places in the Asian rating tournament, which is one of the stages on the way to participation in PGL Major Antwerp.
Oceania Open Qualifier dates remain unchanged, while China, Middle East and Asia events will move up to a week later than the original date. They are now scheduled for February 26-27. According to representatives of the tournament organizer, this decision was made after negotiations with several teams that are going to take part in the qualifying competitions.
The three phases mentioned were originally scheduled to begin just eight days after their dates were announced. This drew criticism from several teams, including TYLOO CEO Dong "Kindy" Wei Yan and NKT player Anthony "ImpressioN" Lima. Previously, PGL had to adjust the dates of qualifying tournaments for European and North American ranking tournaments so that they did not overlap with the period of IEM Katowice and BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.
