PGL will hold a CS GO major in the fall of 2021

In the middle of the week it was announced that the organizer of the next major would be PGL. The tournament will take place in Stockholm at the end of October and beginning of November. The Ericsson Globe Stadium, where the competition is planned to be held, has previously been used for major eSports events: in 2014, DreamHack Invitational matches were held there, and in 2018 – DreamHack Masters Stockholm.

The organizers emphasized that the tournament will only take place if all safety requirements can be met by the fall. However, they expect that by then it will be possible to hold competitions in the presence of an audience – Ericsson Globe seats up to 16 thousand spectators. The tournament will be the first CS:GO major to be broadcast in 4K resolution. In addition, it is planned to use elements of augmented reality in the broadcast.

Silvo Stroie, CEO of PGL, described the upcoming plans as follows: “We grew up watching the role of CS: GO increase and at the same time we grew as a company. We have a lot of memories from different eSports shows and we owe this game a lot – both as players and as an organization. Our goal – give this game its due and we will work hard to make it happen."
