Pinnacle, which organizes events such as Pinnacle Winter and Pinnacle Fall, announced that it will hold the third season of its Pinnacle Cup tournament with a prize pool of $100,000 in 2022. The previous two seasons took place in 2021, and the winners were Gambit and Spirit.
The event, in which the winner will receive $80,000, will take place in three separate stages. First, there will be a group stage in the single elimination format, in which 12 teams will take part, divided into four groups. Next the leader of each of them will pass. The second stage will be held in the Swiss format. The four participants selected through group competition will be joined by twelve others who have received a direct invitation. Eight leaders will advance to the playoff stage, where they will compete for the main prize with four teams invited directly to this stage.
Pinnacle also announced the list of participants for the first stage. These include youth teams such as Young Ninjas, as well as teams from the second hundred of the world rankings. Among the notable groups – Bulgarian SKADE, new roster Coalesce and updated MAD Lions. The first stage of the Pinnacle Cup starts on March 14.
