Tournament organizer Pinnacle spoke about plans to hold a new tournament in partnership with Black Molly Entertainment and the leadership of the city of Lund. The event, called the Pinnacle Cup Championship, is scheduled to take place in June at Lund's Sparbanken Skåne Arena. The event will be held in a LAN format, and its total prize fund will be a quarter of a million dollars.
Three of the eight participants in the tournament are known: Heroic, fnatic and Imperial. The rest of the list should be announced in the coming months. The organizers also note that before this event, two more events will be held as part of the Pinnacle series, more detailed information about which they plan to publish soon. Thus, the Pinnacle Cup Championship will become the main event in the series of events held by Pinnacle in collaboration with GRID.
Tolme Warburton, one of the leaders of GRID Esports, commented in a press release on the organization of the tournament in Lund as follows: “Pinnacle Cup Championship – it is an expression of our joint plans, which we have brought to life together with Pinnacle throughout our cooperation. The Pinnacle Cup has now become a tournament with an established reputation, attracting the best teams in the world. We hope that the upcoming competitions in Lund will help us strengthen this position."
