Russian Gambit, competing at ESL Pro League Season 15 under the name Players, secured a place in the playoffs. After defeating GODSENT on three maps, the team took third place in the group. In previous group stage matches, Players also won against Party Astronauts and BGI, but lost to Movistar Riders. On Sunday evening, the team will have to play a match with Liquid, but it will not affect who makes it to the playoffs: its result will determine from which positions the teams will start in the next stage. Interestingly, Liquid performed just as successfully in the group stage as Players, losing only to Movistar Riders and beating three other teams.
On the first two maps, the strengths of GODSENT and Gambit looked almost equal: the Inferno draw ended with a score of 16 – 14 in favor of the Russian team, and Overpass remained with GODSENT, also with a slight advantage (13 - 16). The fate of the match was decided on the Mirage map, and here Gambit's advantage turned out to be overwhelming. From the very beginning, its players controlled what was happening on the map, and before the change of sides, the Brazilians were able to win only two rounds. As a result, the gap in the score became too large for GODSENT to do anything to counter it, and the drawing of the card ended with a score of 16 – 3.
