First of all, let us remind you where the launch settings are specified. They are read every time the game is started. With their help, you can influence technical parameters that are not available in the game itself, or set default settings so as not to change them manually every time. To specify launch parameters, proceed as follows:
·Open Library Steam.
· Right-click on the game and select “Properties”.
· Find the “Launch options” item on the screen that appears. (it is located on the “General” tab).
You will need to enter the selected launch parameters into it. Check them carefully to avoid typos.
The most important parameters
· -tickrate 128: Sets the tickrate value, that is, the speed of data exchange with the server. On official Valve servers the standard tickrate is 64, and on FACEIT or ESEA 128 is used. Other values are much less common, on individual community servers. Tick rate can affect certain elements of the gameplay, for example, calculating the trajectory of grenades and recording hits.
· -novidl: This command removes the short video that is shown when the game starts. It can hardly be said that they load the computer heavily, but those who play often will find this method useful to save time.
· -nojoy: Disables gamepad support in the game. This option is relevant for weak computers, as it frees up some memory. In addition, sometimes on FACEIT servers a player can be kicked out if this option is not disabled.
· -console: Activates the console, allowing the player to enter any fine-tuning commands during the game.
· +execautorexec.cfg: Reads settings from a file with the given name. This command can be used if you have several CS:GO configurations that you want to switch between for some reason. Please note that the command begins with a + symbol, and not with -, like the previous ones. If desired, you can save all the above launch parameters CS:GO in the config file, and then only this line will need to be entered in the appropriate field.
Settings that are best left untouched
In attempts to increase FPS in CS:GO, players often turn to many other settings. However, on modern computers they make almost no noticeable changes, while an unsuccessful combination of them can cause crashes and freezes.
An example of this – command fpx_max. When setting the parameter "0", it removes the limit on FPS, but this change does not make much sense – The default FPS limit is 300, which is enough for most players. Attempts to manually change the number of threads, process priorities and other system parameters also usually do not produce useful results.
So spending time on more subtle settings changes only makes sense if you understand in detail what you are doing. Another interesting option – try to copy the configs of pro players that can be found on the Internet.
