On June 7, the Australian team Renegades won the DreamHack Masters tournament among the countries of Oceania. The final, in which they met with the AVANT team, consisted of five matches. Thanks to the fact that Renegades went through the previous rounds undefeated, they entered the final game with a one-map advantage, but the victory was not easy for them: they needed all four remaining maps to defeat their competitors in the fight for first place with a score of 3:2.
Already on the first map, Dust2, AVANT showed that they were not going to give up victory easily. After a long struggle, in which first one team or the other gained an advantage, AVANT won the map with a score of 16:13. Then, on Nuke, AVANT's advantage became even more overwhelming. From the very beginning they did not allow the enemy to come to their senses, and in the end they won with a score of 16:9. Thus, the only point remaining for Renegades was the one they received from victories in previous matches. However, the team managed to pull itself together and regain the advantage, first on Mirage (16:10), and then on Inferno (16:11).
As a result, Renegades won first place, receiving $10,000 in prize money and 185 rating points. They are followed by AVANT and ORDER with $5,000 and $3,000 respectively.
