For the Finnish team ENCE, 2021 began with transformations. After conducting an internal analysis of the reasons that led to its failures last year, management decided to change its strategy. Now the team will not be limited to Finnish players: it will include e-sportsmen from different countries who have already proven themselves in professional matches.
Niklas Oyalainen, ENCE's general manager, recently gave an interview to HLTV, talking about what the previous team's problems were and how he hopes to avoid them in the future. In particular, he mentioned that he was disappointed when he learned that the players did not inform the management about the conflicts that arose, trying to resolve them themselves. As a result, the problems only grew, and at the moment when it became impossible not to notice them, the only solution was to change the composition. The team generally set the right goals, but failed to achieve them, and this reduced the motivation of the players.
According to Oyalainen, the organization of the decision-making process as a whole remains a problem for e-sports, since teams are guided primarily by the opinions of the players themselves. Now in ENCE decisions will be made differently: the last word will always remain with the coach and team management. The management of the esports organization believes that it is those teams that have already managed to form such a structure that achieve success.
