Cedric RpK Goipue has decided to end his career

French eSports player Cedric "RpK" Goipue, at the age of 32, announced his retirement from CS:GO. His professional career began in 2006, and during this time he distinguished himself first in Counter Strike: Source, and then in Global Offensive. On Twitter, he commented on the decision as follows: “Today marks the end of a long and wonderful career. It started many years ago and has had its ups and downs, but I have always loved what I do. I am grateful to you for supporting me throughout these years, and I will not forget it."

During the Counter Strike: Source era, RpK was considered one of the best players in the world, and the VeryGames team in which he participated dominated the international scene. In 2012, he moved to Global Offensive, but soon announced his retirement from esports after several unsuccessful performances.

However, in 2014, he changed his mind when former teammates invited him to take part in the Titan project, which brought together players from different countries in Europe. RpK agreed, and although he did not achieve the same outstanding performance as in Source, he remained one of the most notable French players for a long time. RpK played for G2, Envy and Vitality, and as part of the latter he was at the top of the world team rankings for ten weeks.
