Dmitry “sh1ro” Gambit's Sokolov started the year well, winning the MVP title at the Funspark ULTI Finals. This is Gambit's first major tournament in 2022, and the team won first place without losing a single match. She consistently won against Complexity, Entropiq and BIG, and in the final she demonstrated her superiority over Entropiq once again.
For sh1ro, this is the fourth MVP title in his career. Throughout the tournament, he posted outstanding statistics in several categories, including rating (1.43), kill differential (+102), opening duel success rate (80%), and number of rounds in which he multikilled (54.9%). In addition, his performance demonstrates not only his high level of individual play, but also the contribution he makes to the success of the team. sh1ro's best match at Funspark ULTI Finals was the game against Complexity, where the e-sportsman was able to show a rating of 1.95 on the Dust2 map.
Among other candidates for the title of best player of the tournament, two more Gambit participants were named – Sergey "Ax1LE" Rykhtorov and Abai "HObbit" Khasenov, but their statistical indicators were not as high as those of sh1ro after the grand final was played. Thus, sh1ro, who in his recent Twitter post promised to “achieve higher and more stable results,” has already convincingly demonstrated his intentions at the beginning of the year.
