How to find out how much MMR is in Dota 2? What does this indicator actually affect, what is it needed for, and is it worth bothering with this parameter if you intend to stay in the game for a long time.
MMR — a generally accepted “ruler” that determines the skill rating of each individual player. In other words, the longer, i.e. more — so much the better. At least the numbers are big and beautiful. The main task of this parameter is to unite players with a similar skill in one rink, otherwise it will be an extremely boring one-wicket fight that will not bring any pleasure to the losing side.
The system is designed in such a way as not to allow experienced fighters to be a nightmare for beginners. Therefore, if you teamed up with a friend whose MMR is about 2000, and your — 5000+, the game will automatically throw you to the “seniors”, since not the average, but the maximum MMP will be taken as a reference.
How the rank system works
To find out what rank is in Dota and how much MMR is on your account — just do the following:
-
start game;
-
open your profile;
-
click on the “Edit” button if the rating is not specified;
-
look at the data for single and group ratings.
The higher the indicator, the worse the person’s personal life. But to be serious, MMR shows how tough a player is in front of you, capable of single-handedly carrying mid, placing wards, and fighting off offlaners on the map. At the same time playing as a full support.
You won’t be able to see how much MMR you give in Dota for one game, unless at the end of the battle they show you how much was added or subtracted. On average, they give about 30 MMR per battle in solo mode, or 20 MMR if you play in a party. They charge the same amount accordingly.
MMR rank table
So, we figured out how much mmr they give for winning Dota. Now it remains to understand the principle by which ranks change in the game. There are a total of 7 titles in the game, 6 of which are further divided into 5 categories. It sounds complicated, but if you look at the table — everything is much clearer.

The information is approximate, since with each new season the system recalculates points and updates statistics. The screenshot shows data for season 4. What is the maximum MMR in Dota? unknown, but at the time of publication, 12k MMR was reached. The author was a gamer with the nickname T1.23SAVAGE, who plays for T1 as the main carry.
His success was also repeated by JaCkky, Quinn and NothingToSay.
Separately, it is worth noting the badges for Immortals who have accumulated 5500 MMR or more. The table looks like this (from left to right):
-
Reached 5500 MMR;
-
Entered the first 1000;
-
Entered the top 100;
-
Entered the top 10;
-
Top 1.
Ranks in Dota 2, how many MMR, are constantly changing, otherwise achieving new results will not be interesting. Let's say you finished this season with a score of 3250 MMR, which is equivalent to the second Legend. However, with the start of the next one, the schedule shifted, and the rank shifted to that of the first Legend. It seems a shame, but a couple of stars warmed the soul, and therefore I want to return what was lost.
What MMR actually shows
Many people think that the rating only shows how well a person can hit buttons and shout loudly into a microphone. But if you dig deeper and understand how much MMR is and what rank is in Dota 2, the picture becomes much more interesting.
Statistics show how much a gamer understands the in-game mechanics and is able to quickly respond to any situation, even the most unusual. Just look at a typical stream at 2k MMR and 6k MMR, respectively. The characters are the same, but there are fundamental differences in the following aspects:
-
tactics;
-
understanding the character;
-
microcontrol (hello Invoker);
-
knowledge of the pros and cons;
-
ability to read the enemy;
-
item collection speed;
-
general level of play.
At the top MMR, any game turns into a real chess game, in which players think several steps ahead, carefully calculating the enemy. And this includes a timely guard, a timely ult to ban skills, and a stun with healing. Here seconds matter and any delay is fraught with loss. And it’s much more interesting to watch such a game.
In other words, ranks in Dota 2 and how much MMR is talking about what a gamer has achieved over hundreds and thousands of hours spent in MOBA. And an indicator of 5000+ points can no longer be called luck, only hardcore skill and memorization of each character over dozens of battles on the map.
Top heroes to increase MMR
And finally, let's talk about the characters, thanks to whom it is much faster to get through the standings. But let’s say right away that this approach is not the most optimal for a number of reasons:
-
narrow outlook;
-
focus on well-worn tactics;
-
misunderstanding of the game as a whole;
-
general blinkeredness.
Let's say you are already a cool hero in Dota, how much MMR did you earn over the last season? And then the 3k+ skating rinks begin and all your talents crumble into dust, because there is a completely different game going on there.
But before the “three rubles” The fastest way to get there is with these characters:
-
Slark — high damage from hand, fast cast, cheating ult from under towers.
-
Windranger — excellent mobility, stun for almost 4 seconds, high DPS;
-
Spectre — top late-game hero with mega damage, great mobility, escape;
-
Undying — reveals itself already in the mid-game, high damage, easily counters enemy carries;
-
Templar Assassin — fierce damage, wide variability of leveling.
But we recommend developing in all directions. Otherwise, the game will quickly get boring, or turn into a typical routine from which you will not get any pleasure.
