Budapest 2025 is the fourMajor in CS2 history, and it once again brings the Viewer Pass, souvenir tokens, and unique souvenir packages. If you're encountering this system for the first time — or simply don't want to miss out on the benefits — this short guide is for you.
What is the Viewer Pass and Why Do You Need It
The Viewer Pass is a digital pass to in-game rewards during the Major. You can buy it directly in CS2 or on the marketplace. There are two versions:
standard ($9.99) — unlocks access to predictions, coin, and leaderboard;
upgraded ($17.99) — includes all the same plus 3 souvenir tokens immediately.
Here's what you get:
ability to participate in Pick'Em Challenge (predict match outcomes);
commemorative Major coin that can be upgraded (bronze → silver → gold → diamond);
tokens that can be exchanged for souvenir cases;
in-game items like graffiti and profile badges;
leaderboard among those who guessed correctly;
new customization elements.
Important: without the Viewer Pass you won't receive tokens, coin, or access to souvenir drops. So if you want to get something from the Major — the pass is mandatory.
How Tokens and Souvenir Packages Work
Tokens are the tournament's in-game currency. One token = one souvenir case that can be "redeemed" for a specific match and map.
Inside the case are skins from the map collection (for example, Mirage, Ancient, etc.), decorated with golden stickers: tournament logo, winning team logo and losing team logo, plus a golden map signature.
This makes each drop unique — you can literally immortalize your favorite team's match as an inventory item. Such skins can't be unboxed from cases or created through contracts — this is purely a souvenir series, available only during Majors.
You can earn tokens in three ways:
Guess match results in Pick'Em Challenge;
Receive 3 tokens in the upgraded Viewer Pass version;
Buy additional tokens separately in the store ($2.99 each).
Sticker Slab — New Major Feature
The main innovation of the Budapest Major is the Sticker Slab. This is a completely new item in CS2 that allows you to remove a sticker from a weapon and save it in inventory without destroying it.
Why is this needed? Previously, to preserve an expensive sticker (for example, from the Katowice 2014 capsule), you had to keep it on a skin or reapply it — and lose it when reapplying. Now you can "peel off" the sticker and it will remain as a separate item.
Features:
can only be used once;
works with any stickers, including golden ones from souvenir skins;
gives players freedom: you can collect sticker collections or reapply rare ones without losses.
Sticker Slabs themselves are currently only available to Budapest 2025 Viewer Pass holders. This makes them potentially valuable investments for the future — especially if Valve adds more ways to use them in crafts or trades.
Which Cases Are Most Profitable?
All Major souvenir cases are roughly equal in price, but players have their favorites:

Red (Covert) skins from souvenir packages are extremely rare — roughly 0.64% chance (about 1 in 156). The 0.0256% chance (1 in 4000) refers to knife drops from cases and doesn't apply to souvenir packages. But if you get one — you're among the lucky few. That's precisely why some players prefer not to open cases but save and sell them later — souvenir packages can significantly increase in price after a year or two, especially if the map exits the competitive pool.
Is It Worth Spending Money?
If you play CS2 not for trading but for enjoyment and collecting — definitely worth it. For $9.99 you get access to a whole month of activity, souvenirs, stickers, coin, and a chance to win rare items. This is dozens of times more interesting and profitable than just opening cases with keys.
