Tournament organizer StarLadder has published a list of teams that will receive an invitation to the next regional ranking tournament for the CIS countries. The participants who will go straight to the main stage include Spirit, Natus Vincere, Gambit, Virtus.pro and Akuma, while four more teams will begin their journey to the top with a closed qualifying round. Invites were distributed taking into account the current position of the teams in the ranking after the completion of the EPIC League – the first regional ranking tournament of 2021. Four more participants will be selected based on the results of open qualifying games - Two of them are already known – these are ex-Marlian and EC Kyiv, and the remaining two will be determined on June 13-14.
In addition, representatives of StarLadder spoke about what changes will be made to the organization of the tournament after an open letter sent to Valve by the participants of the EPIC League CIS. In particular, broadcasting matches via GO TV and transmitting the video stream to other sources will be carried out with a delay of several tens of seconds to prevent players from using this information. All conversations between players will be recorded, and their actions and everything that happens on their screens will be recorded using a webcam. All StarLadder matches will be played using the FACEIT anti-cheat system.
