Team Spirit announced that all members of the organization are moving to Belgrade (Serbia). This decision was made in connection with the conflict between Russia and Ukraine: the organization’s team includes personnel from both countries, and it is extremely difficult to ensure interaction in the existing conditions.
Commenting on the change in the location of the team, TeamSpirit management emphasizes that accessibility and openness have always been the main principles of e-sports, because the rosters of many teams are formed from players of different nationalities and do not set themselves the task of representing a specific country. At the same time, Team Spirit will continue to communicate with the audience in Russian, since the decision to move was made for the well-being of the players and does not contain any intention to distance itself from the Russian-speaking community.
A bootcamp has already been organized at the team’s new office in Belgrade. The next performance of the Team Spirit CS:GO roster, which currently includes five players from Russia, will take place at the European RMR tournament at the end of April.
Some other Russian teams have faced restrictions in recent weeks. In particular, Virtus.pro and Gambit were forced to compete at ESL Pro League Season 15 under neutral names.
