The prestigious Counter-Strike 2 tournament — IEM Katowice 2025 has concluded in Katowice, Poland. In the grand finals, Team Vitality decisively defeated Team Spirit with a score of 3:0 (13:6 on Dust2, 13:5 on Nuke, and 13:11 on Mirage) to claim the championship title.

Vitality's Dominance and a Tough Final for Spirit

The final match left no chance for the Russian team. Danil donk Kryshkovets and his team lost on three maps in a row, unable to challenge their opponents. According to donk, Team Spirit made numerous mistakes:
“We were simply worse. Bad communication, bad decisions, bad aim, bad... everything. We were just worse, they were better. That's what decided it. There are no victories without defeats.”
Despite the defeat, the player promised that the team would analyze their mistakes and learn from them.

Prize Pool and Tournament Results
For their victory, Vitality received $400,000, while Team Spirit earned $180,000 for second place. Natus Vincere and The Mongolz shared third and fourth places, each receiving $80,000.
ZywOo – MVP of the Tournament

French sniper Team Vitality Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut was named the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament by HLTV.org. His overall rating for the event was 1.42, with a standout performance on Nuke in the finals, where he made 26 kills with only six deaths. This award marked ZywOo's 21st MVP award, allowing him to catch up with Alexander s1mple Kostylev in terms of MVP honors.
ApEX: “I've won all major tournaments”

Team Vitality captain Dan apEX Madesclaire after the victory claimed he finally conquered the last major trophy missing from his collection:
“It took some time, but I feel like I've completed the game. I've won all major tournaments. It's finally happened.”
He also emphasized that the team overcame last year's difficulties and returned to their true level:
“It's compensation after a disgusting 2024 full of problems. We've returned to our real level.”
Despite having a complete collection of titles, apEX does not plan to retire:
“You set new goals every time. To everyone who wants me to retire: it's not happening, sorry.”

The IEM Katowice 2025 tournament, held from January 29 to February 9, gathered the world's best teams and played out a prize pool of $1,000,000. Team Vitality's victory once again confirmed their status as one of the strongest teams in CS2.
