Duncan “Thorin” Shields will become a consultant to the British esports organization Guild and will help it assemble a CS:GO roster. He recently spoke about this on his Twitter. According to the analyst, he will help Guild develop a model based on which the team will operate, and will also be involved in the selection of players and staff. His task – to form a team that can prove itself on the modern professional stage.
Thorin also noted that recently e-sports in structure are increasingly beginning to resemble traditional sports. Therefore, it is not surprising that work methods are also borrowed – in particular, team management begins to use the services of analysts and consultants who are well aware of the capabilities of various players and the current situation.
The esports organization Guild is known primarily for its association with David Beckham. It currently includes teams that compete in Rocket League, FIFA and Valorant. It is interesting that in the latter, Guild is represented by a Swedish team, which includes William “draken” Sundin, who previously played fnatic and NiP.
