THREAT will step down as NIP coach

The Swedish team NIP published a message that Björn "THREAT" Pers will step down as her head coach immediately after IEM Winter ends. However, he will not part with the team, but will become its technical director and will be involved in the tactical aspects of the game. Thus, for THREAT, the second period in his career in which he held a coaching position in NIP ends. In 2016 – In 2018, he worked with the old lineup, but then took a break from the game for about a year and returned in 2019.

Despite THREAT's talents, the Swedish team has barely managed to score major wins in the last two years, with its only first place finish coming at IEM Fall Europe. The team then qualified for PGL Major Stockholm, where they were eliminated in the playoffs after losing to G2.

Thus, NIP will now be looking for a new coach by early 2022. THREAT himself commented on the change, noting that he likes to delve into such subtleties and then see how they translate into the game, and this activity is closer to him than performing at a tournament next to the players. He plans to continue to work on creating new tactical plans, while the new head coach will help the team members perform at their best when it matters most.
