The bookmaker company Thunderpick spoke in detail about the conditions and format of the Thunderpick Bitcoin Series tournament, which will be held online from January to March. The prize fund for this event will be 1.2 bitcoins, however, due to the fact that the value of cryptocurrency is subject to sudden changes, the organizers also announced a guaranteed prize in dollars – at least $75,000 for each team that finishes in the top 8. The event is held in collaboration with UCC – major tournament organizer from Russia.
The tournament, which will take three months, will consist of three stages. In the closed qualifying round, scheduled for 17 – On January 19, four invited teams will compete to advance to the next round in six matches in a best-of-3 format. Only one of them will get into the main stage, which will take place from January 25 to February 15. Another 15 teams will be invited directly to this stage. The teams will play best-of-3 matches using the Swiss system.
Then the eight leaders of this stage will compete among themselves for the right to reach the quarterfinals. Finally, the final stage will begin on February 28 and will end with the grand final scheduled for March 7. Among those who received an invitation to the Thunderpick Bitcoin Series – teams such as forZe, SKADE, SINNERS, DBL Poney and other teams from the top 50 of the world ranking.
