Torbjorn “mithR” Nyborg, who served as coach of MOUZ, announced that he was leaving the team to sign a contract with Apeks and develop its youth team under the Apeks Rebels tag.
For Nyborg, this is not the first episode of cooperation with Apeks: at the beginning of 2020, he spent some time helping one of its previous squads prepare for selection for one of the tournaments. Commenting on his decision, mithR noted that he already had a good relationship with this organization, which was strengthened during the preparation for the Road to Rio Minor Closed Qualifier. He said that while working with the organization in the weeks leading up to the qualifying round, he had the opportunity to discuss plans and methods with the players, and both sides made sure they shared the same principles and vision.
MithR also mentioned that compared to working in MOUZ, he will miss the intense training schedule and the opportunity to compete with the best teams in the world. But he expects his approach to preparation will help take young players from local Scandinavian LAN events and open qualifiers to world-class competition.
